EN124-certified composite manhole covers for main carriageways, municipal roads, drainage infrastructure, and utility access. Multiple load classes. Anti-theft by design. Lightweight for easier installation and maintenance.
Seven models covering D400 heavy-duty road applications and B125 light-duty access. Select a model to view details.
Standard-diameter round composite cover for municipal roads, utility access, and urban infrastructure. D400-rated for full carriageway installation. Widely used by water authorities, telecoms, and power utilities.
Square-format D400 composite cover for highways, car parks, and municipal utility access. Flush installation with road surface. Compatible with standard 600×600 concrete frames widely used in road construction.
Open-grating composite cover for surface water drainage, road gullies, and park or landscape drainage channels. D400 load class allows installation in trafficked road and car park environments with full water flow-through.
Large-format square composite cover for major municipal utility chambers, road junctions, and high-traffic urban access points. Larger clear opening than the 600×600 series for access to wider underground infrastructure.
Large-diameter round composite cover for municipal sewage, water mains, and industrial utility access on main roads. Widely used by water authorities and power utilities requiring a larger clear opening than the 600mm series.
Rectangular composite cover for elongated utility chambers, cable duct access, and telecommunications infrastructure in commercial, industrial, and residential road environments. D400-rated for full road installation.
Compact square composite cover for light-duty inspection access in parks, gardens, pedestrian areas, commercial zones, and telecom infrastructure. B125-rated for footways and areas without heavy vehicle access.

The same manufacturing capability and certification depth that makes us the choice for major oil companies applies to highway and municipal infrastructure projects.
Metal cover theft costs road authorities millions annually in emergency repairs and traffic management. SMC composite has zero scrap metal value — it is simply not worth stealing. This eliminates an entire category of asset management risk without additional security measures.
A single product range certified to EN124 (Europe), AS3996 (Australia/NZ), and AASHTO (North America). For international EPC contractors and programme buyers supplying across multiple markets, this eliminates re-specification and re-testing costs.
We produce our own SMC compound rather than buying from third parties. This gives us direct control over material quality — batch-to-batch consistency that outsourced manufacturing cannot guarantee. Combined with ISO 9001 and SGS testing, every cover meets the same specification.
A standard D400 ductile iron cover weighs 80–110 kg. Our composite equivalent: 32–40 kg. This directly reduces installation cost, maintenance labour, and manual handling injury risk. For large highway or utility replacement programmes, the saving in labour hours across hundreds of covers is significant.
Load class depends on where the cover will be installed. EN124 defines six classes: A15 for pedestrian areas and gardens; B125 for footpaths and car parks; C250 for kerb lanes and slow-moving traffic; D400 for carriageways and roads open to all vehicles; E600 for high-load zones such as docks and freight yards; F900 for exceptional loads. If you're unsure, share the application and we'll advise the correct class.
Composite covers offer several practical advantages on public roads: they have no scrap metal value, which eliminates theft — a persistent and costly problem with iron covers. They're non-sparking, non-conductive, and will not corrode. For local authorities and contractors, this typically means lower total cost over the asset life despite a higher unit price.
Yes. Our D400-rated covers are independently tested to EN124 and certified to carry 40-tonne axle loads — the same standard applied to ductile iron D400 covers. Our E600 range is certified for 60-tonne loads. We can provide third-party test reports (SGS or equivalent) on request.
Theft of manhole covers is a serious safety and cost issue for local authorities — iron covers are routinely stolen for scrap value. Our composite covers have no scrap metal value, which removes the primary incentive for theft. For applications requiring additional security, we also offer covers with integrated locking mechanisms. Specify at enquiry stage if locking is required and we'll confirm the available options for your load class.
Standard documentation includes EN124 test reports, ISO 9001 certificate, Declaration of Conformity, and SGS third-party test certificates.
Our SMC compound is manufactured in-house for each order, so standard lead time is 25–30 days from order confirmation. Actual timing depends on order quantity. If you have an urgent requirement or a fixed site delivery date, contact us early — we will do our best to accommodate.
